SEALS AND SEA LIONS
This drawing was primarily an exercise in 'range of value', and is composed of six values: white, black, and four shades of grey. Those values are laid out by a technique called mapping. Mapping is normally used to identify a shading plan for a drawing but I like the graphic effect it can produce so left the distinct bordered areas.
The two figures in the foreground are seals while the small group of figures in the background are sea lions.
