Ravens
This graphite drawing shows a raven couple preening. As ravens geneally mate for life preening each other (allopreening) is important in two ways. It keeps their feathers in good shape, controls parasites and builds trust between the two birds. Although ravens mate for life if one partner dies the other will find a new mate to continue breeding.
